This books is about drawing expressive people. This book shows essential tips & techniques for capturing people on location. Róisín Curé is from Ireland, growing up in the mountains of County Wicklow, and now lives in Galway on the west coast. The paintings of Brueghel and the albums of Tintin and Asterix inspired her early love of the human form in art. She has a background in science (a master’s degree in geology) and has taught art to children and adults for over twenty years. It was the discovery of urban sketching in 2012 in Mauritius, where she was spending a few months with her husband’s family, that opened her eyes to the huge personal benefits of drawing one’s surroundings. She co-founded Urban Sketchers Galway two years later. Since 2015, she has taught urban sketching workshops in Ireland and abroad, including in the USk Symposia in Porto and Amsterdam, and today combines teaching children and adults with private commissions. In 2019, she published her first book, An Urban Sketcher’s Galway (Currach Press), a memoir of life in an Atlantic town on the edge of Europe.
